How to Unlock the Water Tank in Slime Rancher 2

The best way to get rid of Tarr Slimes? Water!

One obstacle you may encounter throughout your Slime Rancher 2 playthrough is Tarr Slimes. Tarr Slimes are the result of a largo slime eating a third plort. While this frequently happens in the wild, it can also occur if you mix multiple slime types in a corral or if some escape. Thankfully, Tarr slimes are weak to water, so you can use either a hydro turret or your own water to get rid of them. The Water Tank upgrade is accessible in the Fabricator. Head into the underground laboratory next to the Plort Market to find the Refinery and Fabricator. Interact with the Fabricator to begin.

Go to the Upgrades tab in the Fabricator. Here, you’ll find the Water Tank upgrade. To make the Water Tank, you need the following resources:

  • Newbucks x450: Sell plorts at the Plort Market and crack open Treasure Pods.
  • Angler Plorts x10: Feed angler slimes and pick up their plorts. Feed them Sea Hens to get double the plorts!
  • Puddle Plorts x10: Find them in bodies of water around the map. If you’d like, you can build a pond in your conservatory and drop them off there.
  • Deep Brine x10: Get the Resource Harvester and look for blue geysers around Rainbow Field.
