Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Tale of Stone and Fire Quest Guide

Below are all the steps for completing each part of the “A Tale of Stone and Fire” quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley:

  • Speak to Maui to begin the quest
  • Follow Maui to Dazzle Beach
  • Gather the items needed for Maui from his basket in the Moana Realm x5
  • Bring Maui the items you gathered.
  • Cook a fresh 5-star meal for Maui.
  • Bring the meal you cooked to Maui.
  • Follow Maui back to the sea debris.
  • Break the sea debris and collect what you find inside.
  • Show Maui what you found.
  • Gather the following items to craft a Granite Fire Bowl: Sand, Stone, Coal Ore and Red Falling Penstemon
  • Place the Granite Fire Bowl in the Village.
  • Return to talk to Maui.

Talk to Maui in your village to begin the quest. He’ll tell you about storm debris that made its way onto Dazzle Beach, prompting you to go over there and investigate the situation. After heading to the beach towards the Glade of Trust entrance, you’ll find a large, blue egg with a treasure chest. However, before breaking it, you’ll have to go to Moana’s Realm and obtain some items for Maui.

Teleport to Moana’s Realm and head towards the beached ship nearby. Interact with the basket to find various seashells and five scraping stones. While you don’t need the seashells, they may be very important to you later in this quest. Give the stones to Maui to proceed.

After giving Maui the scraping stones, he’ll decide he’s a bit hungry and requests a five-star dish. If you picked up the three seashells from before, your best bet is a Large Seafood Platter. To make this, use all three seashells, shrimp, and one lemon. Alternatively, below are some examples of other five-star dishes you can cook:

  • Bouillabaisse: Shrimp, Tomato, Any Vegetable, Any Seafood x2
  • Aurora’s Cake: Wheat, Sugarcane, Egg, Milk, Any Fruit
  • Vegetarian Pizza: Tomato, Cheese, Wheat, Any Vegetable x2
  • Lobster Roll: Lobster, Wheat, Lemon, Butter, Garlic
  • Pastry Cream and Fruit: Milk, Sugarcane, Any Fruit x3

After making a five-star meal of your choice, hand it to Maui. He’ll upgrade your pickaxe in exchange, allowing you to break the large, blue egg from before! Before going crazy and breaking it, follow him back to the beach to initiate some conversation.

After traveling to the beach and speaking to Maui, break the egg and open the chest. You’ll find some sandstone, which Maui suggests creating a Granite Fire Bowl with. However, you’ll need some additional materials first:

  • Sand x20
  • Stone x25
  • Coal Ore x10
  • Red Falling Penstemon x3

With your newly acquired pickaxe, break nearby blue eggs for an abundance of sand. Breaking black rocks around cliffsides will net you plenty of stone and coal, while the Plaza houses Red Falling Penstemons.

After finding each resource, head to a nearby crafting station and make the Granite Fire Bowl. Place it in your village and speak to Maui one last time to wrap up the quest.
