Unlike other magical beasts you can randomly encounter in the wild, unicorns have one spawn area. The place where you’ll find unicorns is known as a “Unicorn Den”, with one of these located in the Forbidden Forest. More specifically, you’ll have to travel to the eastern part of the forest and find this spot next to a Mooncalf Den.

One method you can use to get here is using the North Ford Bog Entrance Floo Flame and travelling south through the forest until you reach the den. Alternatively, you can take the Upper Hogsfield Floo Flame and either run down the paths or use your broom to fly down.

Once you arrive at the den, you’ll find a unicorn strolling around, which you can use your Nab-Sack to rescue and transfer to your Vivarium! If you’re lucky, you may find a rare, shiny version of the beast. If the unicorn runs around too much, you can use spells like Glacius or Arresto Momentum to slow it down.

Additionally, you won’t have to worry about only one unicorn spawning here throughout your playthrough. If you leave the area and return later, you’ll encounter another in this spot, allowing you to catch multiple unicorns. By doing this, you can breed the unicorns in your Vivarium, keep them as special pets, or sell them at Brood and Peck.
