How to Find Shiny Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy

Beast tamer or Pokemon trainer?

Beast taming is part of the Hogwarts Legacy experience and it’s a great way to prove your skills as a Wizard or Witch in the castle. But taming beasts just became even more enticing after players figured out that you can find shiny beasts as you explore around the game.

Normal beasts have a name bar with their sex, and this will be the case for most beast encounters in the game. However, shiny beasts will have a slightly different color variation and a star next to their name to signify their rarity. In this guide, we’ll go over how shiny beasts work in Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy – How to Find Shiny Beasts

Before you start looking for any shiny beasts, you want to make sure you have all the tools to take advantage of a rare find. That means you need the Room of Requirement and the Vivarium that goes along with it. This is where any beasts you tame and catch are sent. This Vivarium will also display the unique color and star of the beast.

To find shiny beasts in Hogwarts Legacy, you must follow the same process that you were using before to tame beasts. Look for lairs and pay attention to the beasts that spawn there. It can be hard to tell when you’ve found a shiny because the color difference isn’t too intense, so keep an eye out for the star.

As you would expect, these shiny beasts are far rarer than a normal spawn and that means you’ll have plenty of searching to do. When you search a lair and there are no shinies, head to another lair or wait and return to the same one. There is no official data on the chances of a shiny beast spawning in Hogwarts Legacy just yet, but we’ll report it when there is.
