Don't worry, it's not broken.

There is a Battle Pass that players can buy for Diablo 4, and anyone who purchased the Premium edition to play early already owns the pass in advance. However, the Battle Pass release is not the same as the launch day for the game, and we all have to wait to start grinding out some new cosmetics.

When Does the Battle Pass Release in Diablo 4?

The first Battle Pass for Diablo 4 will release in July of 2023. Even though the official launch for the game is June 5, we have to wait at least one month before we get access to the pass. I also wanted access as soon as the game went live, but if I learned anything from Call of Duty, Activision likes to move the Seasons around one month ahead of the launch.

Considering the Battle Pass is part of Season 1, it only makes sense that we have to wait until July. The official release date for Season 1 has not been revealed, but Blizzard did confirm that Season 1 and the Battle Pass would release in mid to late July. That means we can expect access anywhere from July 10 to July 31.

Battle Pass Prices in Diablo 4

There are three different versions of the Battle Pass in Diablo 4. The standard pass, which has become a staple for most live service games, is 1,000 Platinum or $10. Then there is a premium version that costs 2,800 Platinum or about $25. Which pass you choose entirely depends on the cosmetics you want.

Of course, there is also a free version of the pass that gives players 27 tiers without any cost. That’s the full extent of the unlocks though, and if you want more, then Platinum is required.

Anyone who needs to get Platinum in Diablo 4 must go to the shop to restock. I wish I could tell you that Platinum is part of the grind, but it’s not.
