How to Join Rota Farming Groups in Diablo 4

While the Diablo 4 community has been steadily growing for the past few years, this growth doesn’t only apply to the number of players. Diablo 4 has an official community-led Discord server called the Sanctuary that helps players efficiently farm faster, trade awesome gear, and more. The server has been running since the start of Diablo 4, and it has grown a lot since then.

This is the hub for all things Diablo 4, and a few Blizzard representatives like Adam Fletcher also oversee it. One of the coolest things you can do in this server is to join a “rota” farming group to farm Tormented bosses efficiently. Here’s how you can use the Sanctuary Discord server and join those rota farming groups in Diablo 4.

How to Join Rotation Farming Groups in Diablo 4

Firstly, you need the Discord server application or software along with a Discord account. Once you have both, you can look at the server list on the left panel of your Discord and look for “Explore Discoverable Servers.” Go to the “Gaming” tab and search Diablo 4 Sanctuary, as seen in the image above.

Request to join the “Sanctuary – Diablo 4 Community” server and follow the steps to be part of the server. These steps may vary, but usually, you’ll just need to set up your role on the Discord server. The server might also change names from time to time, but so far, they have kept this same server name ever since. You’ll find Blizzard Representatives online or active on the “roles” section, so you will know you are on the right server.

Once you have your role, you’ll see close to a hundred different channels. Before taking a peek at the other channels, go to the current season you are playing (usually this is tagged as “[Softcore] Seasonal”) and look for the text channels.

You’ll see sc-lfg-infernal-hordes, sc-lfg-tormented-boss, and more. “SC” refers to Softcore, LFG stands for Looking for Group, and the next word means the type of content this channel is for.

If you go to the sc-lfg-tormented-boss channel, you’ll see players post what type of Tormented boss they want to run, how many rotations, and their Battle.net account. You can join by following the posts being thrown around the channel. The next section of this article will cover this in more detail if you are still confused.3

How to Form Rotation Groups in Diablo 4

Once you have seen all these posts in the channel, players will either type “LFG” or “LFM.” LFG means that the player is looking for a group to join. LFM means a group leader is looking for more players. So, a sample post would like like:

• LFG Tormented Zir Boss 4x Rota PrimaGames#1
• LF2M Tormented Andariel 2x Rota PrimaGames#1

While some of these terms are explanatory, the “4x Rota” would be a bit confusing. If you see a number on the rota post, it means that the player has the materials to run that many rotations of the boss. For the first example, the player wants to run four full rotations of the Tormented Zir boss, which means that 16 runs in total if all four players pitch four runs worth of mats. 4X Rota doesn’t mean you’ll run the boss four times, which may cause some confusion among the players using this channel.

This is why players are almost required to post their materials after joining the party to prove they can summon the Tormented boss. This feature is awesomely creative and helps players farm those Mythic unique items without investing 4x the time on looking for the boss materials. Everyone wins!
