How to Start Fighting World Bosses in Diablo 4

You must complete the main campaign in Diablo 4 before you can start fighting World Bosses in Sanctuary. There are six Acts in the game, with the final one essentially just taking you through the climax of the game. Until you bring Act VI to a close, there is no way to start fighting bosses like Ashava or Avarice.

So far, there are three different World Bosses that can appear on the map in Diablo 4. When you have completed the main campaign, you will start getting notifications on your map for World Boss timers. Any time I looked at the map, I had a 30-minute timer before the boss would spawn. The location is always marked and when you arrive, you have 15 minutes after the spawn to complete the fight.
