You can now play your favorite Custom Maps from CSGO in CS2 Closed Beta, such as Aim Maps, Surf Maps, and old popular custom maps from CSGO. There is no proper support for custom maps in CS2 yet, but you can play the ported maps from CSGO by installing them manually. Follow the guide below to learn how to install and play custom maps in CS2.
How to Install and Play Custom Maps in CS2
You can install Custom Maps in CS2 by downloading the vpk file of the map you want to play and then pasting it into the Counter-Strike Global Offensive game folder. To install CS2 custom maps, go to the ModDB CS2 Addons page and download the map that you want from the lists of maps available for CS2.
Once you download the zip file, extract it and paste it into the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\maps

Start the game from Steam and open your console by pressing the Tilde (~) button on your keyboard. Once the console is open, type in the following command:
- map mapname (replace mapname with the name of the map)
Press Enter, and you will now load into the map. If the map name does not show up in the console, check if you have pasted the map’s vpk file in the right directory. If the issue persists, copy the vpk file and paste it into the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\core\maps
The map will now load up, and you will be able to play your favorite custom maps from CSGO in CS2.
