Your teammates will no longer throw matches in CS2.

CS2 release is right around the corner, as the Closed Beta is currently at the final stages, with the release of the new update. All players with Prime Status and Competitive Ranked unlocked in CS:GO were provided with an invitation. With this update, the new overhauled Inferno has been added for the players to test, along with a new mode called Premier, which we will be discussing in this guide.

What is the New Premier Mode in CS2?

Premier Mode has been added to the closed beta version of CS2, a type of matchmaking system where players compete against each other in a team of five and get Points for every victory they earn. It can be said that this new mode is quite similar to the old Competitive Mode in CSGO, but other significant changes have been made to make it a more thrilling and fun experience.

Every player with Prime Status will have access to this mode, and they will be able to play solo or with friends. Each game will start with a Pick and Ban system where teams will ban maps and pick what side they want to start from. There will be a total of seven maps in the Premier Mode, from which teams will choose what map to play with the help of the Pick and Ban system.

The rounds in each game will now be based on MR12 format – meaning, each half will be played for 12 rounds, and the total match will be 24 rounds. This will shorten the time it takes for each game to end while also keeping the same competitiveness it has to offer. The first team to win 13 rounds will be the winner of the match. In case of the match resulting in a tie, six additional rounds will be played until one team becomes victorious.

At the end of the game, players will get points if they are victorious, which will then be added to your total tally on the Leaderboard. The points that a player accumulates will be shown on the Leaderboard in-game, which will be divided into regions, and one of them will be a Worldwide Leaderboard. The leaderboard will contain the total points for all the players in the world. This will allow players to showcase their skills on a global level and compete against other players.

You can compare your total points with other players in the world or among your friends. The leaderboard will reset each season, and the players will have to start all over. The more serious players on their journey to becoming a Pro in the game will now have an opportunity to grind for something.

On top of that, instead of an overall rank you unlock in CS:GO for playing Competitive Mode, you will now have to unlock your skill level for every map. Each map will have its skill group that you will unlock for playing Competitive Mode on that map. It adds more depth to the competitive matchmaking system in the game. You can no longer reach the Global Skill Group in-game if you don’t reach Global on all maps.

Counter-Strike 2 will be released this summer, and the players have already started grinding the Premier Mode. There is a leaderboard already present in the game that currently shows the ranks of all the top players for the Beta Season. This shows the competitive nature of the players and how this new game mode has already got players addicted to it. It is something that is bound to be successful in the long run. At least CS players have now something to look forward to with CS2 Premier Mode.
