Diablo 4: How to Get the Unique Item Ring of Starless Skies

As someone who’s built their entire sorcerer around scoring those juicy critical hits, I’ve been on a long search for the Ring of Starless Skies. But this ring is one of the rarest unique items in the game, and it can’t even be obtained until your character is late into the game. Here’s how to get it.

The Ring of Starless Skies is one of six Unique items that fall into the “ultra rare” category. Here’s what we know about it:

  • The Ring of Starless Skies can drop from any level 85+ enemy.
  • You can get it in all the same places you’d find a normal unique item.
  • Its power level is set to a default of 820.

This information was confirmed by lead class designer Adam Jackson on Twitter.

That means one of the most consistent ways to find it at lower levels is to use a Level 31 Nightmare Sigil. It’s also theorized that certain families of monsters (such as beasts, vampires, cultists) have a higher tendency to drop certain categories of items. But all families of monsters have an equal rate of dropping rings. That means you can opt to farm your favorite Nightmare Dungeon.

But what I would really recommend is choosing a second Unique item you’d like to farm and selecting your Nightmare Dungeon based on that. The Harlequin Crest, for example, is an extremely useful and ultra rare unique item that can benefit all class builds.
