Across all of Diablo 4, there are several rarities of gear that can be acquired. While completing the campaign, the best rarity of gear you’ll get is Legendary, which by default comes with an Aspect that’ll change how your class’ abilities work. What you may not know is that there are two more rarities you won’t get until much later, one being the rarity for an item a lot of people seem to want in their arsenal. Here’s how to get the Doombringer sword in Diablo 4.
Where to Find the Doombringer Sword in Diablo 4
The Doombringer will drop from enemies, chests, and broken objects, once the player has World Tier 3 or higher active. To get World Tier 3, you’ll need to complete the main campaign and complete the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon. It features a very difficult boss, and we suggest bringing a friend along for it. Once you’ve completed it and activated World Tier 3, you’ll want to do whatever else you want until it drops.
What is the Doombringer Sword, and Is it Worth Using?
The Doombringer sword is one of the two Unique swords in the game, sporting increases to Critical Damage, Core Skill Damage, a chance to heal on Lucky Hit, and an increase to Maximum Life. What makes this sword unique is its passive, which gives a 15-25% chance on hit to deal Shadow damage to surrounding enemies, while decreasing their damage done by 20% for 5 seconds. The chance to proc this effect depends on how the sword dropped, so you may need to see it drop multiple times before you get a good percentage.

Given that it’s a weapon that can be used by all classes compared to the other Unique Sword, the Doombringer is a great choice if you’re looking for some good AoE damage. An aggressive Necromancer, Rogue, or Barbarian, for example, might find good use out of the Doombringer. Sorcerors are the only class I’d advise against, though I also use a ranged Sorceror, meaning I might be a little biased toward that play style.
