Use them for fantastic upgrades or tiny pink mushrooms

Strange Diamonds were among the rarest materials in the first Slime Rancher game. While they’re still rare in Slime Rancher 2, they’re slightly easier to find if you know what to look for. Despite not being used in many fabrication recipes, it’s still good to stockpile some diamonds for when you need them! Unlike most resources in the game, Strange Diamonds aren’t exclusive to one region. However, you’ll need to upgrade a gadget known as the Resource Harvester.

To make the Resource Harvester, take the following steps:

  1. Head to the Fabricator in the Conservatory’s underground laboratory.
  2. Toss 10 Cotton Plorts into the Refinery and save up at least 450 Newbucks. If you don’t know where the two machines are, descend the staircase left of the Plort Market screen.
  3. Go down the stairs and throw the plorts into the Refinery.
  4. Head back to the Fabricator and make the Resource Harvester.

With the Resource Harvester in hand, you can now begin exploring. While Strange Diamond can spawn anywhere, there are some particular areas to check out. You’ll want to look around caves such as those behind Gordo Slimes and scattered around Ember Valley. While you’re not guaranteed to find the diamonds in these places, they have a high chance of having at least one spawn spot. As you search around, look for a blue-green gem jutting out of a light grey stone.

Slime Rancher 2 is available in Early Access on PC and Xbox Series X|S through Steam and Game Pass. If you’re interested in learning more about the game, check out How to Get Wild Honey and How to Get Buzz Wax in Slime Rancher 2.
