How to Get Lava Dust in Slime Rancher 2

Lava Dust is a resource commonly found around, well, lava. More specifically, you’ll want to head to Ember Valley and travel far enough to encounter an area full of boom slimes and lava. Traveling around this region, you’ll find brown, sparkling geysers. These are your sources of Lava Dust. However, before making this journey, make sure you have the Resource Harvester upgrade from the Fabricator.

If you don’t already have the Resource Harvester, head to the Fabricator in the underground laboratory next to the Plort Market. From here, feed 450 Newbucks and 10 Cotton Plorts into the Refinery before crafting the Resource Harvester. With this completed, you can now travel to Ember Valley!

After unlocking Ember Valley through the Pink Gordo in Rainbow Fields, head through the teleporter and go west. Travel up the mountainside ramps and continue along this main path until the stones start turning a dark grey. This color change indicates that you’re nearing the area! Enter this part of the valley, pass the Feral slime warning sign and take your first step into the lava area.

Once you’re in the lava region, look around for the geysers. While having a jetpack makes the process easier, you don’t need it as long as you’re careful about jumping into the lava lakes. Vacuum up the geysers to get Lava Dust.

Slime Rancher 2 is available in Early Access on PC and Xbox Series X|S through Steam and Game Pass. If you’re interested in learning more about the game, check out How to Get More Inventory Slots and How to Unlock the Water Tank in Slime Rancher 2.
