Fishing is a great place to start if you’re trying to fill up your Disney Dreamlight Valley collection log. To catch a Kingfish, you’ll have to head towards Dazzle Beach and scout for blue, bubbling fishing circles. White circles typically give herring and cod, while orange ones spawn fugu and swordfish. Blue circles are your best bet for getting Kingfish in particular. If you don’t see any right away, you can cast your line towards the other circles to get more to spawn or leave the area and return later.

The main secret to getting the Kingfish instead of a fish like Shrimp is to wait until nighttime. Since Shrimp commonly spawn during the day, and other circles contain different fish, so your main target is blue fishing spots at night. You’ll also want to make sure you’re staying at Dazzle Beach rather than heading into the Glade of Trust or the Forest of Valor.
Once you catch a Kingfish, you can either use it in recipes such as Sweet and Sour Kingfish Steak, eat it raw to regain energy, or sell it for 450 Star Coins.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available to play on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation platforms through the official website.
