Float like a butterfly, glide like a bird, and shoot a bow like Tulin with the Great Eagle Bow in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Great Eagle Bow, which is only fit for those who have hero status and are associated with those who hail from Rito Village and the Hebra region, can only be obtained in one way.
You cannot buy it at a general store or from a Hyrule local, as it is a very special and unique bow that can only be crafted by the best for the best. In this guide, I’ll be taking readers and players through the process of how to get the Great Eagle Bow, who you should be talking to start your quest for one, and note all the materials needed to get the bow manufactured straight out of Rito.

Getting the Great Eagle Bow in Tears of the Kingdom
To acquire the Great Eagle Bow, you need to activate the side quest, “Legacy of the Rito”. To activate this side quest, you must go and talk to Teba, Tulin’s father. Having given the Great Eagle Bow to Tulin before he and Link set out on their quest to stop the blizzard in the skies, Teba was beside himself, feeling the need to craft another one for himself. For himself means for Link.
Once you’ve spoken to Teba, he will request you set out and find all the materials and bow needed to construct the bow. The items required to complete the side quest and receive the Great Eagle Bow are as follows:
- 3 x Diamonds
- 5 x Bundles of Wood
- 1 x Swallow Bow
Now that we’ve covered all the items needed, it’s time to locate a specific location on the map where you can find a Swallow Bow, more often than not.
Where to Find a Swallow Bow in Tears of the Kingdom
The Swallow Bow can be found in an area extremely close to Rito Village. Before journeying to the location on the map I’ve provided below, you’ll need to make sure you are packing a material or tool that can melt ice caps.
Top Tip: I fused a Ruby to one of my shields. Just by standing next to the ice caps, they started melting, and they defrosted completely. No ammo or weapons were wasted in the process.
First, you’ll need to fast travel to the Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower, located northeast of Rito Village, east of the Hebra Mountains, and west of the Tabantha Tundra. When there, you can activate the tower and launch Link into the air, preparing to glide back towards Rito Village. When you zoom into the Hebra Mountains section, look for Hebra Peak.

When gliding down to the coordinates (-2639,2702,0508), it places you just below the peak. While you’re gliding down to this section of the mountain, you’ll notice two ice caps next to each other. If you see these two ice caps, you’ve reached the right place and need to land there. The icecap that needs to melt is the one on the right-hand side. Inside the cap is a treasure chest that contains the Swallow Bow.
Collecting Firewood and Diamonds Needed to Craft the Great Eagle Bow in TOTK
If you’ve been exploring and foraging a ton before you started the Legacy of the Rito side quest, you should have firewood in abundance but not the three diamonds. Diamonds are hard to come by if you are not farming them with one of the latest farming glitches. However, it’s not impossible to find them on demand; it just requires a bit of finding, grinding, or paying the right price.
The five bundles of wood can be found right outside of Rito Village at the Lucky Clover Gazette. If you don’t want to waste time going to another location, just chop some trees down and make five bundles.
To acquire the three diamonds, you can read How to Get the Lightscale Trident in Tears of the Kingdom. In this guide, there are coordinates for shrines where you can find diamonds. If you’ve already collected those and used them, in the same guide is another guide on how to get the Boulder Breaker in the Goron Region, which has some more shrine locations with diamonds. If all of the above fail, head to Goron City and buy some diamonds. They’re quite pricey at 1000 rupees each, but buying them will save you so much time.
Now that we’ve gone through the process of collecting all of the items and where to obtain the Swallow Bow, you can go on and complete the crafting of the Great Eagle Bow.
Legacy of the Rito Complete
To complete the Legacy of the Rito mission, return to Rito Village and talk to Teba again. He will thank you for the materials, ask if he can really take them off your hands, and then offer you the Great Eagle Bow once he’s done constructing it.
Accept the generous gesture, and you’ll have completed the side quest, Legacy of the Rito. When you open your inventory, you’ll find the three-shot Great Eagle Bow, which was once wielded by the Rito Champion, Revali. Thankfully, this is something that can be done over and over, so there’s no need to worry about its durability or breaking. Once shattered, return to Teba with the same materials and bow, and he’ll craft it again.
