Is There a Way to Get into the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test?

Sadly, there’s no guaranteed way to access the CS2 Limited Test, as Valve is choosing who gets to take part based on certain requirements. We don’t know exactly what ensures players will get a spot in the test, but we do know that you’re more likely to get in based on Steam account ranking, playtime on Valve servers, and trust factor.

You’ll know if you’ve been selected to participate if you receive a notification on the CSGO main menu telling you that you’ve been chosen. To access CS2 from here, click on “ENROLL” and download the update. Once it’s downloaded, reboot CSGO, and you’ll see a new “Limited Test” option.

Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test Features

For now, there are only two game modes in the CS2 Limited Test: Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive, both on the Dust2 map. Valve will be adding more game modes, maps, and features as the Summer 2023 release date creeps near.

As for earning XP, all XP accrued during the Limited Test will carry over to CSGO, and you’ll also be able to access your CSGO inventory in the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test. You can’t modify your items, though, so you’ll have to move back to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive if you need to make changes to your inventory items.
