The First Descendant has several Ultimate rarity modules that alter your playstyle. These aren’t technically better than other normal or rare modules, but they are strong in the most specific situations. However, there’s one Ultimate module that every Descendant can benefit from using: the Mid-Air Maneuvering Module. Here’s how to get the Mid-Air Maneuvering module in The First Descendant.

Where to Get the Mid-Air Maneuvering Module In The First Descendant

The Mid-Air Maneuvering module drops from The Haven Infiltration Operation (or Duty of the Descendant mission). It drops at normal and hard mode difficulties, with slightly different drop rates. Normal mode has a 4% drop rate, while hard mode has a marginally better 5% drop rate.

The Haven takes 6-8 minutes to farm, which is average. It doesn’t matter how strong you are because the objectives are the ones that make the run much longer. I suggest waiting until hard mode is unlocked to get the Amorphous Material Patterns for Void Intercept Battles on hard mode.

You also get some Heat Plasma Batteries from the commander on the second main objective of the mission. This material is useful for crafting Energy Activators, so you are getting two other useful things while farming the Mid-Air Maneuvering module on hard mode.

How to Use Mid-Air Maneuvering Grappling Hook in The First Descendant

The Mid-Air Maneuvering goes into the sub-module slot on the lower left. Modules placed in this slot usually change your sub-attacks (melee button) to something else. Once you have Mid-Air Maneuvering equipped, you can use the grappling hook to attach to the air and launch yourself in any direction.

You don’t need to aim for terrain or objects anymore. It also grapples at the maximum distance whenever possible. This gives a great quality of life upgrade to moving around, but you will lose one charge to your grappling hook and a longer cooldown (20% longer). If you upgrade the Mid-Air Maneuvering module, it won’t improve on the charges or lower the cooldown; it’ll only increase your module capacity for each upgrade like all the other sub-modules.
