Apart from resetting Descendants to maximize power in the endgame, you can also improve those module capacities using Energy Activators in The First Descendant. These are some of the hardest enhancement materials to farm in the game, but we’ll give you the best strategy to farm each material to craft the Energy Activator. Here’s how to get Energy Activators in the First Descendant.

Where to Get Energy Activators in The First Descendant

There are two main ways to get Energy Activators. You can research them through Anais or buy them from the in-game shop with the premium currency Calibers. To buy Energy Activators, go to the shop tab and look for the Support Material category. Scroll down and see Energy Activators going for 1,200 Calibers each.

Most players won’t buy the Energy Activators with real money (rightfully so), and even those who are willing to spend money shouldn’t because these are easily farmable materials when you know where to get them. To research or craft Energy Activators, you need the following materials:

  • 55x Low-Carbon Activators
  • 25 Conductive Metallic Foils
  • 55x Heat Plasma Batteries
  • 72x Polyatomic Ion Particles
  • 1x Energy Activator Blueprint

These are some of the hardest materials to farm, which may be why they are 1,200 Calibers each. But instead, we’ll show you the best ways to farm each material.

Low-Carbon Activators – (Hard mode) Zone Recon Mission Fallen Theater: Vulgus Strategic Outpost in Kingston

  • Strategy: These spawn every 5 minutes, but if you fast travel between regions, you can reset the instance. You can also leave the game open and play every 5 minutes if you are doing something else.

Conductive Metallic Foils – (normal or hard mode) The Timberfall battlefield in Vespers

  • Strategy: You will farm Encrypted Vaults. The strategy is to go to the middle of the broken colosseum-like structure and use Ecive Scan. Look at every direction from the middle until you hear the correct pinging sound. Find the Encrypted Vault, open it, and reset it by switching regions. You can learn more about this Ecive Scan strategy in this Encrypted Vault guide.

Heat Plasma Batteries – (normal or hard mode) The Haven Duty of the Descendant in Hagios

  • Strategy: The Heat Plasma Batteries drop from the second main objective (destroying the 3 Vulgus structures) when you beat the commander. Make sure to loot the defeated commander here, or else you won’t get any Heat Plasma Batteries from your run. You can return to Albion after defeating this commander and start the dungeon again using the device in Albion. It’ll save you some time because you don’t need to finish the whole duty.

Polyatomic Ion Particles – (normal or hard mode) Aurora Forest Snowy Heights Supply Mission in Fortress

  • Strategy: These Polyatomic Ion Particles drop from commanders during most missions in the Fortress region. However, you want to go for the Snowy Heights mission in the Aurora Forest. This supply mission requires you to defeat enemies and put the supplies into the device (yup, picking up the trash). However, if you don’t pick them up and allow the enemies to respawn endlessly, you’ll just keep fighting endless waves of mobs until you get hundreds of Polyatomic Ion Particles.

Out of all the strategies, the Conductive Metallic Foils are quite possibly the hardest. I also suggest farming those for last since you’ll need to farm some Codes to open those Encrypted Vaults. However, if you go through all the strategies, you should get enough codes, especially from the Snowy Heights supply missions.

Note: Research time takes 1 day and 16 hours, so it is best to farm this immediately to start the research.

How to Use Energy Activators in The First Descendant

To use Energy Activators, go to your Descendant Module menu and look for “Module Additional Settings.” Tap it and select “Max Capacity Up.” You can only do this once per Descendant, and it’ll give you an additional 20-module capacity, which is one of the biggest power spikes in the endgame.

These Energy Activators are also needed for Ultimate Weapons. They act the same way as Descendant modules, but you’ll need one Energy Activator for each weapon.

When using Energy Activators, make sure you are committed to using the Descendant and/or the Ultimate Weapon. This enhancement material is extremely hard to farm, so you need to be thrifty using them.

If you reset your Descendant’s level through Crystallization Catalysts, the Energy Activator bonus will still remain. So, you only need one for each Descendant you are planning to use.

You get two for free after finishing the campaign and one of the subquests. I made a mistake using it on my starter Descendant (not my planned main character), so I had to farm more.
