Complex Carbon Activators drop from specific Infiltration Operations in The First Descendant, but these take a long time to finish. There are ways you can farm these operations more efficiently and that’s usually the best way to farm them unless you also want other materials or even patterns. Here’s how to get Complex Carbon Activators fast in The First Descendant.
How to Farm Complex Carbon Activators in The First Descendant
Complex Carbon Activators drop from the two Infiltration Operations in the Echo Swamp region. Difficulty does not matter as both operations drop Complex Carbon Activators. Here are the two Infiltration Operations you are looking for:
- Seed Vault
- The Chapel
If you look at the “Access Info” screen and look for the acquisition information on the Complex Carbon Activators, it says “Mission monsters” from the mentioned operations above. These “mission monsters” are actually just “monster” because you can only get them from the elite commander that shows up in one of the objectives in the Seed Vault or The Chapel.
Best Way to Get Complex Carbon Activators
The best way to farm Complex Carbon Activators is to run the Seed Vault instead of The Chapel because it is slightly faster. Once you reach the objective against an elite commander (the one with a yellow health bar), you should pick up its item drops and return to Albion using the main menu screen.
You’ll still get the Complex Carbon Activators and any of the items you picked up before leaving the operation. This strategy allows you to maximize your efficiency in farming these rare materials, but if you want to get other loot, such as end mission rewards, Amorphous Material Patterns, or even Shape Stabilizers, you should finish the operation instead. Adding affixes in hard mode doesn’t increase the Complex Carbon Activator drops, and it only gives you a chance to get more end-of-mission rewards.
What Are Complex Carbon Activators Used For?
Complex Carbon Activators are used for the following research:
Product | Complex Carbon Activators Needed |
Restored Relic Synthetic Fiber | 15 |
Executor Synthetic Fiber Blueprint | 15 |
Piercing Light Nano Tube Blueprint | 15 |
Lepic Spiral Catalyst | 60 |
Gley Stabilizer | 60 |
Lepic and Gley are one of the strongest Descendants when it comes to fighting Void Intercept Battles or single-target boss fights. You’ll need a lot of Complex Carbon Activators to craft them. However, they have Ultimate versions where you might feel like it is a waste of time to farm their weaker versions. Nevertheless, the Ultimate weapons are also strong and you might probably be looking into maxing out one of them, especially the Piercing Light.
