Before you can start hunting for sapphires, you’ll want to make sure you have access to Sunlit Plateau. If you don’t have it unlocked already, head to the northwestern ramp connected to the Plaza and pay 7,000 Dreamlight to clear out the thorns. Once you do that and progress further into the main story, you’ll unlock access to Scar the lion’s quest line.

After starting Scar’s first mission, you’ll learn about Vitalys Mine in Sunlit Plateau. In this cave, you’ll find glowing rocks along the walls you can mine. While these mostly drop stone, iron, gold and Vitalys Crystals, there is a chance you’ll get gems. The two gems you can get from here are rubies and sapphires.

Like the Valley’s mineral rocks, these rocks also have a chance of having colored gems jutting out of them. If you find one that has blue ones, make sure to break it! You’re guaranteed to get a sapphire from this stone. Not only that, your chances of getting the shiny version are much higher than breaking a regular rock.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available to play on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation platforms through the official website.
