What Time is Stardew Valley 1.6 Coming Out?

There is no shortage of farmers ready to get right back to tilling the fields and romancing the local cuties in Stardew Valley. And while we know that the Stardew Valley 1.6 update will be coming on March 19, we don’t have a confirmed time. But based on past update times and ConcernedApe’s time zone (GMT-7), we have an idea of when the update will probably come.

UPDATE: Version 1.6 is available on PC right now!

Based on historical updates, it’s likely that we’ll see Stardew Valley’s 1.6 update between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM EST. For those in the Stardew Valley Discord, there will be a Discord-wide ping when that happens. But Concerned Ape posted at 1:16 EST saying, “don’t get too ready, it’ll still be a little bit probably”. So, we may have to wait until after 3:00 PM EST.

Concerned Ape has also been posting on Twitter in the lead-up to the update. Each day, they’ve released bits of the patch notes. Some of the more interesting tidbits we’ve seen include mentions of a new farm type called Meadowlands, which will be great for animals and starts new farmers off with a coop and two chickens—a huge early-game advantage.

We’ve also learned we can drink mayonnaise (which has spawned no shortage of terrible memes) and fruit trees have gotten a big update. Now, fruit trees yield the appropriate fruit saplings, and if the tree is mature (i.e. the fruit quality is higher than basic), it will yield a sapling with the same quality as its fruit. The higher the quality, the faster the sapling will mature when replanted.

Beyond that, many of the previews ConcernedApe has given us relate to quality of life and fixing bugs, like the left-to-right harvesting bug.

While you wait for the update, now may be the best time to get some of the best fish for the fishpond in Stardew Valley or learn how to get hay if you’re going for the Meadowlands Farm.
