Holiday events are some of the best seasonal activities in gaming, and even in Diablo 4, Sanctuary adventurers get to partake in the Midwinter Blight event. In this guide, I’ll cover when the event begins and what you can expect as you jump in.

Midwinter Blight Start Time and Date in Diablo 4

The Midwinter Blight event will begin on December 12, 2023, at 1 pm ET. Specific times aren’t generally given for updates in Diablo 4, but nearly all of them go live between 12 pm ET and 1 pm ET. I would expect a patch to go live earlier in the day, so if you want to get in on the action as soon as possible, make sure to check for updates.

Once the Midwinter Blight begins, you will have until January 2 to participate. Considering the patches always go live around 1 pm ET, it’s safe to assume that the event will end at the same time on January 2, 2023. So your best bet is to have everything done by the end of New Year’s Day. Otherwise, you could miss out on the new cosmetics.

What to Expect From the Midwinter Blight in Diablo 4

Your goal in the event is to end the Blightfiend celebration known as the Blighted Revelry. These beasts have placed totems all over the Fractured Peaks and it’s your job to destroy them. Along the way, you could encounter a new boss named the Red-Cloaked Horror. The boss looks interesting, but don’t expect an Abattoir challenge.

Anyone who participates enough in the event and collects as many Midwinter Blight resources as they can will be able to get new cosmetics. There seems to be at least one holiday-themed transmog for individual Diablo 4 equipment pieces across the board. However, we will have to wait and see what gifts are in store.

While you wait, make sure to check out the Abattoir of Zir for another challenge in the Season of Blood.
