Where Do I Find Star Fragments in Tears Of The Kingdom?

There are a few different ways that you can obtain these items, but just know that you cannot purchase them from vendors, which makes them one of the more difficult items to come across. To find Star Fragments, you’ll want to begin exploring the world and keeping an eye on the sky.

Star Fragments are almost immediately noticeable, as they’ll come falling from the sky with a long tail to showcase where they are. Finding them on the ground, however, is another story. You will want to keep your eyes peeled for a glowing crater that will contain these rare items.

What Are Star Fragments For in Tears Of The Kingdom?

Star Fragments are rare items that can be used in a variety of different ways, but they are especially valuable if you’ve got any of the amiibo Costumes. Now that you can find these powerful outfits in the overworld, you’re going to need plenty of Star Fragments to help them unlock their true potential. The best uses of Star Fragments are the following:

  • Upgrading Armor
  • Fusing them with weapons/shields
  • Selling them

For the majority of Amiibo Costumes, which can either be farmed or found in the overworld, you’ll need at least 1 Star Fragment to increase their capabilities alongside another specific item. While you could use the recently discovered item duplication glitch to gather more Star Fragments, exploring the world and finding them in the wild feels a little more rewarding.

If you’re coming up a little short on cash, you could always sell a Star Fragment for 200 Rupees to any of the vendors in towns like Kakariko Village or Hateno Village. Mobile vendors such as Beedle or horseback vendors will also purchase these valuable items from you for the same price.

Finally, if you’ve found yourself with an overabundance of these materials, you can always Fuse them on either your weapon or shield to give yourself an extra bit of glow. This could be particularly useful when you’re exploring The Depths if you haven’t gotten your hands on the Miners Outfit just yet.
