SMITE 10.6 Bonus Update Patch Notes – Live June 27

Hi-Rez Studios is not sleeping on any balance issues in SMITE it seems, and instead of waiting for a major patch update, they are granting the community a “Bonus Update” – a small Patch Notes Update that identifies and resolves some of the balance issues that cannot wait until the next major Patch. A lot of exciting stuff is happening in this Bonus Update, so I invite you to invest a few minutes (thankfully, these patch notes are not very long) to see what changes are coming to the SMITE meta. Here are the Bonus Update patch notes for SMITE 10.6.

SMITE BONUS BALANCE UPDATE – LIVE JUNE 27 2023

In these Bonus Update Patch Notes, we have minor general changes, some Relic nerfs, Tank item nerfs, and Mage item shifts, while a few Gods have “suffered” some changes. There’s also a cool skin: Ultra Lancer Lancelot, which you can see in the screenshot below.

General Changes in SMITE 10.6 Bonus Update Patch Notes

With the introduction of this new seasonal mechanic, we have heard the feedback that the minions that spawn from the Soul Surges can sometimes lead to undue frustration. Making these spirits easier to kill is the first step and the team is going to continue monitoring this feature for heavier shifts if necessary.

  • Soul Surge
    • Decreased Soul Surge Spirit Health Scaling from 100 to 70

Item Changes in SMITE 10.6 Bonus Update Patch Notes

A lot of Relics have been nerfed, which may be surprising to some players, but let’s see what Hi-Rez has thought about their balance.

Relic Nerfs in SMITE 10.6 Bonus Update Patch Notes

SUNDERING SPEAR

  • The increased damage debuff now no longer stacks

GREATER SUNDERING SPEAR

  • The increased damage debuff now no longer stacks

SUNDERING BLAST

  • The increased damage debuff now no longer stacks
  • Decreased damage dealt from 15% of Current Health to 10%

HORRIFIC EMBLEM

  • Decreased the Damage Dealt Debuff from 15% to 10%

GREATER HORRIFIC EMBLEM

  • Decreased the Damage Dealt Debuff from 15% to 10%

EMBLEM OF INCREASING PERIL

  • Decreased the Damage Dealt Debuff from 15% to 10%
  • Decreased the Debuff Amplification per stack from 10% to 5%

Tank Bonus Damage Item Nerfs in SMITE 10.6 Bonus Update Patch Notes

FLAMEFORGED HAMMER

  • Decreased Bonus Damage on the passive from 5+10% of your protections to 5+7% of your protections 
  • Decreased Duration of the DoT after leaving the area from 3s to 2s

MANTICORE’S SPIKES

  • Decreased Bonus Damage from 4% or 8% of the owner’s max HP to 3% or 6%

Mage Item Shifts in SMITE 10.6 Bonus Update Patch Notes

The latest season has brought about a lot of shifts regarding DPS vs Tanks and while there are more changes coming with the main patch we wanted to use this opportunity to fix the issues with certain Tier 2 items as well as provide a few targeted buffs for mage itemization.

OBSIDIAN SHARD

  • Increased the Bonus Penetration on the Item’s Passive from 10% to 20%

BOOK OF SOULS (TIER 2)

  • Decreased Magical Power from 65 to 55

BOOK OF THOTH

  • Increased Magical Power from 50 to 60

REJUVENATING HEART

  • Increased Magical Power from 50 to 60

TALON TRINKET (TIER 2)

  • Decreased Magical Power from 65 to 55

TYPHON’S FANG

  • Increased Magical Power from 60 to 65

ENCHANTED RING (TIER 2)

  • Decreased Magical Power from 55 to 45

WARLOCK’S STAFF DESCRIPTION FIX

  • This item now states that it provides an additional 25HP when evolved

EAT MINION

  • Decreased Active cooldowns reduction from 2s to 1.5s

FENRIR NERF

SEETHING HOWL

  • Decreased Physical Power from 20/35/50/65/80 to 15/25/35/45/55

DISCORDIA NERF

CONTEST OF GODS

  • Decreased Physical Power per level from 2 to 1.5
  • Decreased Magical Power from per level to 3 to 2

GUAN YU NERF

CONVICTION

  • Cooldown increased from 13s to 14s

TAOLU ASSAULT

  • Decreased Base Damage per Hit from 20/30/40/50/60 to 17/27/37/47/57

CAVALRY CHARGE

  • Decreased stun duration from 1.5s at all ranks to 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5s

MARTICHORAS NERF

DEATH FROM ABOVE

  • Decreased Protection Debuff from 4% per stack to 3% per stack
