Slime Rancher 2: How to Unlock Starlight Strand

Before you can unlock Starlight Strand, you’ll have to introduce yourself to a Slime Gordo. More specifically, you’ll have to travel to the southern part of the map and feed the local Cotton Gordo until it pops. You don’t need a Jetpack to do this, so don’t worry about flying over the ocean or mountains! If you’re unsure where to find the Cotton Gordo, take the following steps to arrive at the exact spot:

  • Starting from the Conservatory, head west and follow the path until you reach an area full of pink and cotton slimes.
  • Go south down a narrow pathway and drop down the edge.
  • Head southwest and climb up the ramp until you reach the Cotton Gordo.

Cotton Gordos eat vegetables exclusively, so you’ll have to gather some carrots and water lettuce! Both of these spawn around Rainbow Fields, so you’ll have to search around until you find some. If you want to make things easier, you can build a Garden in your Conservatory and grow some veggies. You’ll need around 30 vegetables or 15 water lettuce.

With your veggies in hand, head to the Cotton Gordo and feed it until it pops! A cave is now open for you to venture through, which, upon heading in, reveals a Teleport Unlock Node. Interact with it, watch the stone drop into the ground, and travel towards this area. You’ll now find a teleporter that leads to Starlight Strand!
