Flesh Lip is a grotesque monster with a lip for its head in Silent Hill 2 Remake. Its attack patterns closely resemble those of the final boss, who fights you in a rusted-iron bed, so mastering the Flesh Lip’s moves will give you an edge in the endgame. In this guide, we have given a complete breakdown of all attack patterns of the Flesh Lip Boss and the best strategy to beat it in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Flesh Lip Boss Location in Silent Hill 2 Remake
You will find Flesh Lip Boss at the end of Brookhaven Hospital right after encountering Pyramid Head. Laura locks James inside a room of the hospital, and after the cutscene, Flesh Lip falls from the ceiling after its roof tile collapses.
You should know that this encounter will block you from exploring the hospital section so make sure you have looked every nook and cranny and collected everything there is.
Flesh Lip Boss Attack Patterns in Silent Hill 2 Remake
Attacks | Description |
---|---|
Ceiling Attack | Flesh Lip tracks your movement and drops down from the ceiling onto you to deal physical damage. If you stay in one place, you can get hit very easily. |
Pincer Strike | As the boss hangs from the ceiling, if it did not hit you by dropping down, the boss fire strikes James with its rusted metal pincer. |
Rocking Feet | Sometimes you can also get hit by the boss as it comes down from the ceiling and rocking its feet towards you. |
2-Hit Pincer Strike | During the second phase, when the boss has detached more pincers from its rusted iron bed, the boss will close the gap by rushing towards you and ending the move with a 2-hit pincer strike. |
Pincer Swipe | Flesh Lip uses all of its sluggish body and swings sideways. This action causes all of the pincers attached to the rusted bed to swing from the left to the right side. |
Flesh Lip Scream | When you have damaged the boss a lot, it will end up becoming aggressive. This is indicated by the Scream attack. You will not get hit during this attack. |
Pincer Ceiling Combo | Similar to most of the two-hit pincer strikes, the boss uses the front iron legs and slams into the ground, trying to hit James with them. |
Uppercut | During the aggro phase, Flesh Lip will charge for a second and unleash the right rusted pincer with an uppercut attack. |
Pincer Slam | Similar to most of the two-hit pincer strikes, the boss uses the front iron legs and slams into the ground trying to hit James with them. |

How to Beat the Flesh Lip Boss in Silent Hill 2 Remake
Flesh Lip is a very slow-moving boss in Silent Hill 2 Remake, but he pops out of the ceiling and then goes back up every now and then. This behavior to control the field makes the boss a tougher encounter and requires a good strategy to beat the Flesh Lip.
Most of the phase one attacks involve Flesh Lip emerging from the ceiling by breaking the tile. While doing this action, the boss clings using its hand and remains in the air with its massive fat body hanging.
While you can shoot the boss’s body to deal damage, the best strategy here will be to aim faster and shoot its hand that is holding its entire body in the air. Do this, and the boss will fall and be stunned for a few seconds. This is when you get near it to deal melee damage or fire all rounds of your Handgun or buck shots of Shotgun carefree on the boss.
As the boss continues to pop out more frequently from the ceiling, the empty tiles will reveal their position so you can dodge easily. But if you continue to run and never stop, the boss will continue to chase you. Therefore, you must run, stop, and bait the boss to drop down and dodge at the last second. If not, the boss fight will take a lot of time to beat.
During the second phase of the boss, the Lip Flesh uses all four rusted-iron bed pincers to strike you. During this phase, dodging via precise timing is essential; otherwise, you can die very quickly in a few back-to-back hits.
The back side of the Flesh Lip boss has a bigger rusted-iron plate, hitting the boss there will not take any damage and any bullets you fire will most likely ricochet off. Be mindful of this and do not waste your ammo firing the boss’s back.
Repeat the strategies we have mentioned above, and you should be able to defeat the Flesh Lip boss in Silent Hill 2 Remake easily.
