Eddie Dombrowski is one of the toughest bosses you will face in Silent Hill 2 Remake. Like many encounters, you will be fighting him in the dark, but Eddie takes the stakes up a notch. You will need to rely heavily on audio cues to locate and attack him before he can strike. In this guide, we will walk you through everything you need to know to defeat Eddie in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Eddie Dombrowski Location in Silent Hill 2 Remake
After leaving Toluca Prison, you will face Eddie in a boss fight when James enters a graveyard filled with the names of people he has encountered on his journey. One of the graves has ‘James’ written on it, and that is where you need to go.
Entering the grave, James falls into the next room. Continue walking the hallway with a door at the end. This is where a cutscene will trigger where Eddie is waiting, pointing a gun at James.
How to Beat Eddie Dombrowski in Silent Hill 2 Remake
Eddie Dombrowski may seem like a slow-moving boss due to his larger build, but he is quite agile and easily hunts down James. The fight takes place in a meat locker, with James on one side and Eddie on the far side, separated by rows of hanging meat.
Phase One
During phase one of the Eddie Dombrowski boss fight in Silent Hill 2 Remake, he will try to shoot you from a distance using his long barrel pistol. One of the best strategies we recommend is to always stay behind a lump of hanging meat and let it block shots that Eddie fires at you.
Eddie will occasionally come running at you or reposition for a clear shot, which is why sound is a very important part of this boss fight. Wearing headphones will help you hear his movements and the sound of the meat as he pushes through, giving you the edge to know where he’s coming from.
During the first phase, don’t rush. Stay behind the meat and occasionally peek out to check if Eddie is charging toward you, which he often does. When you spot him coming, quickly grab your Hunting Rifle and try to land a couple of shots before he retreats.
Out of all the weapons in Silent Hill 2 Remake, the Hunting Rifle is powerful against Eddie Dombrowski boss fight. You can still use the Hand Gun and defeat the boss, but the per-bullet damage of the Hunting Rifle will quickly cut down the boss’s fight length rather than using any other weapon. The Shotgun isn’t very useful here since Eddie tends to keep his distance.
Phase Two
Phase two starts when Eddie shoots the steam pipes at the ceiling, filling the meat locker with a thicker fog that reduces visibility significantly. Reliance on the audio in phase two increases massively as you will almost never be able to see Eddie coming at you from the front.
He will often try to surprise you by approaching from behind and shooting, but with headphones on, you can track his movements through the sounds of him moving among the hanging meat.
Staying in one spot behind cover makes James an easy target, as Eddie can use the fog to sneak up and attack. Instead, you need to keep moving while hearing the noise Eddie makes, keeping one finger on the trigger, and as he pops out from thick fog, fire a round or two at him before he runs back again.

Phase Three
After dealing enough damage to Eddie during the thick fog phase, the boss fight will transition into phase three. This time, the fog goes away, but the hanging meat in the meat locker starts moving, and your fixed cover no longer gives you enough protection against Eddie’s long barrel pistol.
You need to keep moving in the direction the meat is moving. Switch rows and get close to Eddie. In this phase, he can easily be seen while taking a shot at you. You can dodge and shoot him, or you can stay in cover while being mobile and fire your Hunting Rifle at him when you get a clear line of sight.
The difficulty ramps up in this phase, and it might take a few tries to get used to the mechanics. Keep in mind that the hanging meat can be destroyed by both Eddie’s and your gunfire, so the longer the fight goes on, the less cover you’ll have.
Repeat the process we have mentioned above, and you should be able to beat Eddie Dombrowski in less than 10 minutes in the game. While most boss fights in the game end up with James putting a monster out of his misery, killing Eddie brings no satisfaction.
