Payday 3 Favors Explained: How to Get and Use Favors

Calling in some help.

When you’re ready to head into a heist in Payday 3, it’s important to go in prepared. This means selecting the right loadout, and having whichever weapons seem to be the best for the job. It also means having some favors perhaps in case you need them in a pinch. How they work though can be very confusing, especially since the game doesn’t do a very good job of telling you. Here’s how to get and use favors in Payday 3.

How to Buy and Use Favors in Payday 3

To get favors in Payday 3, you’ll want to head to the Vendors tab located at the top of the main menu. From there, select the Gage: Arms Dealer option and scroll down past Weapons, Preset Weapons, and all other tabs until you reach the Favors tab. Here, you’ll be able to buy four different types of favors for $10,000 a piece. Here’s what each favor does:

  • Ammo Bag: Places an Ammo Bag somewhere in the level.
  • Armor Bag: Places an Armor Bag somewhere in the level.
  • Medic Bag: Places a Medic Bag somewhere in the level.
  • Zipline Bag: Places a Zipline Bag somewhere in the level.

While the first three favors are self-explanatory, the Zipline Bag will provide you with a safer way to transport either yourself or your loot bags from place to place. The placement of this is dependent on the level, but tends to be quite helpful. For example, getting the Zipline Bag favor on Gold and Sharke will let you use a zipline that goes between the second floor and the roof, through the skylight.

As for how you use these favors, you’ll want to queue up for a heist and head to the lobby screen. Here, you’ll be able to select from the possible favor slots and place any amount of your purchased favors into the slots. You can do this whether you’re the host or another player, so that thankfully shouldn’t cause problems.
