Overwatch 2: Tips & Tricks for Playing Kiriko

If you’re looking for some tips and tricks to help elevate your gameplay as Kiriko, we have you covered. Below you’ll find our best suggestions on how to keep your team alive while also dealing some damage to help push fights in your team’s favor.

Keep Your Distance

Seriously, Kiriko has exceptional range and can both heal and deal damage from afar. Your healing Talismans will take a bit to reach your team, but Kiriko does not have much health and can easily be one-shotted by a Hanzo arrow. You want to stay in the back line and out of the line of sight of the enemy. Your Kunai attacks have good range and require precision, so lining up shots from a distance is your best chance at success.

Use Your Protection

Your Protection ability will grant a small window of invulnerability for you and your team within the splash damage of the grenade. This should be used when a big ult like Junkrat’s Tire or a D.Va bomb. This can save your team from a complete wipe. Don’t use it willy-nilly; make sure it’s up for the moments you really need it. It’s the perfect counter to powerful team wiping ultimate.

Push With Your Ultimate

We just said to keep your distance, but when your Ultimate ability is up, and your team is in position, launch that sucker and push. Kiriko’s Ult might be one of the single best pushing abilities in the game. You are giving your team the speed and ability cooldown to clear out the enemy team and push through a problematic chokepoint.

Make sure your tank is there to push first and soak up a lot of the burst damage the enemy team will try to hit you with, but your DPS and support will keep everyone alive and pushing forward. Don’t be afraid to use your Protection here to give everyone some wiggle room to deal with some damage.

Teleport!

Kiriko has a handy escape tool in fights. She can teleport to a player much like Mercy can fly to one, but Kiriko can go through walls. This is the perfect way to pull yourself away from a fight. If an enemy gets the jump on you, find an ally in a building or behind cover. You might instinctively just gravitate to the nearest teammate, but in most cases, you’ll still get killed.

Be specific on who you target, and having good spacial awareness, you’ll be able to make excellent use of Kiriko’s teleport.
