Overwatch 2 is free-to-play, which will likely bring in a lot of new players to the franchise. If you haven’t played Overwatch before, you’ll be treated to what the team calls the “First Time User Experience.” You’ll need to unlock most of the original heroes as you progress. Overwatch 2 First Time User Hero Unlock Order

When you boot up Overwatch 2 for the first time, if you have never played before, you’ll need to unlock a list of heroes over 100 matches. Wins will make this progress go faster, but it will still take a long time. So you’ll have access to basic heroes like Soldier 76, Winston, Mercy, and a few others. Below you’ll find the complete list in order of which heroes you will unlock first.

If you’ve already played Overwatch and have an account, this won’t matter to you, but if you’re new to the game, this is the order you can expect as you slowly unlock these heroes one by one.
