New Marvel Snap Card – Master Mold – Showcase, Decks, Counters, Synergies

Oh god, why...

It’s that time of the week again when Marvel Snap receives a new card in the Series 5 of the collection. This time around, it’s a card called Master Mold. The background lore is that Bolivar Trask made Master Mold with the purpose of creating an army of Sentinels that should rule over the population of mutants. Naturally, Master Mold has high expertise when it comes to robots and electronics in general. Let’s see what Master Mold does in Marvel Snap in this showcase article, and let’s see what decks Master Mold is good with, along with what cards have a good synergy with him, or counter it.

What Does Master Mold Do in Marvel Snap?

Master Mold is a 2-Cost 2-Power card that has the following On Reveal: effect:

Add 2 Sentinel to your opponent's hand.

A fairly simple effect, right? Doesn’t look good? True. The card will be the reason some people will outright break their phones when they open Master Mold from Series 5. Literally imagine getting this, over Kang, Thanos, or Galactus

There is almost literally no reason for you to want or play this card. There, I said it. Sentinel is a 2-Cost, 3-Power card that makes a copy of itself into your hand when played. The deck you would need to play with Master Mold can be very inconsistent.

Master Mold Card Synergies and Decks in Marvel Snap

I will agree that there is a Synergy with a Darkhawk or Ronan deck, though. If you really must play Master Mold, you should play him with Darkhawk AND Ronan. The idea behind the deck is that you should clog your opponent’s hand and deck with junk so that:

  • Your opponent has seven cards in their hand that they can’t get rid of, because each time you play a Sentinel, a new one comes to your hand, and they will be torn between playing them or ignoring them.
  • Your opponent cannot draw new cards from the deck because their hand is constantly full.
  • Darkhawk and Ronan both get crazy power.

Try this decklist:

  • Iceman
  • Korg
  • Black Widow
  • Beast
  • Master Mold
  • Baron Mordo
  • Mystique
  • Maximus
  • Darkhawk
  • Rockslide
  • Ronan
  • Sera

Master Mold Card Counters in Marvel Snap

Devil Dinosaur is good. Anti On-Reveal decks are good. Quick Aggro Decks such as Zoo that quickly dump their hands are good. Even Beast decks might be good. But that’s about it. Nobody, almost nobody, will run this card, because most of the player base will not have it for months and months.
