New Marvel Snap Card – Kang the Conqueror – Showcase, Decks, Counters, Synergies

Kang is here to wreck the game entirely!

Along with a new Location that came by today, we have a new card as well. His name is Kang the Conqueror, and Marvel fans know Kang as one of the most significant supervillains in the Marvel Universe. Of course, similar to the Location that got revealed today, Kang’s appearance is also related to the 2023 movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania that’s now in cinemas across the world. Let’s see what Kang the Conqueror does in Prima Games’ showcase and what would be the best applications for him in different decks, as well as some synergies and counters for Kang the Conqueror.

Marvel Snap – Kang the Conqueror Effect Showcase

We haven’t gotten our hands on Kang the Conqueror yet, but based on research, we know quite a lot about Kang.

Kang the Conqueror is a 0-Power card that costs 5 Energy. The effect is groundbreaking and lives up to the standards of the Super Villain in the Marvel Universe:

Look at what your opponent did, then restart the turn (without Kang)

Basically, after you play him, he disappears (do let us know somehow if it has an interaction with Luke’s Bar) and undoes everything you did in the turn, including a Snap! so you can re-do your turn. This means that you draw a new card. This means that Kang is kind of a deck thinner.

In Which Series Will Kang the Conqueror Be in Marvel Snap?

Kang the Conqueror will join Galactus and Thanos in Series 5 and is bound to stay there. And of course, it works great with both of these cards. Lockjaw Thanos is one of the top decks now, and Galactus is always a great deck to play, and now you can scout out if your opponent has a counter to your play or not.

Is Kang the Conqueror Broken in Marvel Snap?

It’s too early to say for most people, but I’ll call it, it’s busted. Let’s see what it does with Jubilee and Lockjaw decks, really. As a regular 5-Drop, it’s great already. Yes, you are losing a card from your hand basically, but we’ve witnessed matches being won with three cards on your board (a recent example being Shuri -> Red Skull -> Taskmaster). Getting crucial information in late turns can make you win more games than you usually would. Think of Daredevil for example!

Also, it’s worth noting that all random effects that happened during the restarted turn will happen in the same manner. You will draw the same card you drew on the turn you played Kang. If you drew Kang, you’ll draw something else (that’s to prevent abuse).

The card is busted as hell, broken, and most probably will end up being unhealthy for the game more than Leader, and we know how much people raged at the Leader’s existence. In the end, Leader got nerfed into the ground HARD, and nobody’s playing it nowadays. I see Kang being a 6-Cost card down the line unless they rework his effect somehow. I hope that the card was thoroughly playtested.
