Is the Rocket Launcher Worth Buying in Resident Evil 4 Remake? – Answered

For an explosive weapon, it's pretty disappointing.

Resident Evil 4 Remake features more than enough weapons in its sandbox for you to toy around with. From handguns, to shotguns, to rifles, to even a Bolt Thrower, you have everything from your classics to some rather unique options. Fairly early in the game, you’ll come across a new weapon that might seem great on paper but has a few caveats to it. Here’s whether the Rocket Launcher is worth buying in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Should You Buy the Rocket Launcher in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

The Rocket Launcher first appears in the Merchant’s shop in Resident Evil 4 Remake, being available for a whopping 80,000 pesetas. When purchased, it will take up a 2×8 slot within your attache case and has one rocket in its ammo. When that rocket is used, it will be thrown away. A replacement also can’t be bought from the Merchant, making this one of the biggest gambles in the entire game.

With that said, we highly suggest that you don’t bother picking up the Rocket Launcher. In a game about killing all sorts of horrors, that might sound like a sin. Given how little value you get out of it with its asking price and the space it takes up though, it’s likely to cause you more frustration than good. It might have a few use cases with particularly large foes or large groups of enemies, but those can be handled easily enough with the rest of the game’s arsenal.

It’s a shame to see the potential of the Rocket Launcher go completely to waste due to the way it was designed. If it could get more rockets, or maybe a few more rockets before it disappeared completely, maybe it would be useful. As it stands, it’s nothing more than 80,000 pesetas down the drain. If you want something more worth the asking price, here’s our guide on how to get the Red9 handgun.
