How to Use Photo Mode in Zenless Zone Zero

Take in the sights!

Zenless Zone Zero is the latest action RPG from miHoYo that’s available now on PC, PS5, and mobile devices. Like previous miHoYo titles, players can take photos of their surroundings and different characters using the camera function. It isn’t immediately available in this title, and here is how you can use the photo mode camera in Zenless Zone Zero.

How to Unlock the Camera in Zenless Zone Zero

After you have progressed through the tutorial missions, you’ll have some downtime for smaller tasks around the city during the Prologue intermission. During this, you will unlock the camera feature to take a photo of a cat after petting it. This mission is part of the main campaign, and you can’t miss it.

Using Photo Mode in Zenless Zone Zero

After you have unlocked the camera feature, you can simply use it by bringing up the quick menu by holding F on the keyboard, or LT on your controller. From the quick menu, select the camera shutter icon.

Selecting this will take you to the photo mode interface with a view of the environment.

In the photo mode, you only have the following options

  • Zoom level
  • Reset camera position
  • Hide UI
  • Take photo

After taking the photo, you can hit the save icon at the bottom right to store it locally on your computer. You can also hide your UID and account information if you want.

The photo mode is really basic, even compared to something like Honkai Star Rail or Wuthering Waves. It’s unavailable during combat, and you can’t take photos of your main character. This is mostly for taking photos of characters and city environments. Think of it more as a camera feature rather than a robust photo mode that we’ve become used to in recent releases.

The PC version runs great for the most part, apart from the Unity crash, which you can fix with a few tweaks. For more on Zenless Zone Zero, make sure to check out our dedicated section.
