Increase your Craftsmanship level and complete Excavation Intel to unlock more Transmuter recipes. The easiest way to increase your full recipe collection will be to focus on the Craftsmanship level before you start searching for shards. Any time you create a brand new item, you earn a set amount of Craftsmanship XP. For example, crafting the first standard Potion will reward you with 10 XP. If you follow that up crafting your first Antidote as well, then you will reach level 2.

Each time you increase your Craftsmanship level, there will be more recipes automatically placed into the Item Transmuter menu. For most of your time in FF7 Rebirth, this is the best method to get all the potions your party will need while making use of all the materials you find on the ground. But there are some recipes tied to armor that you need to find outside of the Transmuter menu and that’s where the Excavation sites come in.

When you scan two Cavern Lifesprings on the map, there is always a chance for another point of interest to appear. Sometimes this will be a major fiend and other times it will be an Excavation Site. If you happen to get the Excavation Site, this is your chance to unlock more Transmuter recipes. Head to the area with your Chocobo and sniff out the treasure per usual. Once you search the whole site, you should have a couple of new recipes in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

While you’re exploring, make sure to find some more Materia for your FF7 party to make use of.
