If you’re planning to smuggle contraband on a consistent basis, then the Shielded Cargo Hold is going to be your best friend. This storage holds a lot less space than other Cargo Holds of similar price and style but offers the added benefit of making cargo undetectable by scanners. If you want one for yourself, you’ll want to either get a specific ship with a Shielded Cargo Hold pre-installed or buy one from Lon Anderssen at Red Mile, located on the planet Porrima III.

Another good way to smuggle contraband is to head to The Den in the Wolf system. This is a UC Vanguard-controlled space station, which sounds counterintuitive but doesn’t have a scanner for contraband. The Trade Authority shopkeeper there is also willing to purchase less-than-legal goods.
