With Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred introducing a complete rehaul of the overall progression system, leveling will be totally different from any season in Diablo 4. Combine this system with some added features and consumables and you’ll even have more methods to level up. In fact, leveling has never been this easy in any season before – if you know all the tricks. Here’s a comprehensive leveling guide on how to level up fast in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred.
The Fastest Way to Level in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred
Before we get to the leveling methods, it is almost mandatory to always keep a stockpile of elixirs. In Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, you can immediately craft elixirs as long as you go out in the world and grab some Bundled Herb (any herb will be Bundled Herb). Five Bundled Herb turns into one elixir, which will give you a 5% experience boost buff that will last at least 30 minutes.
Leveling up while finishing the campaign
For most players, you are looking to level up fast and also finish the Vessel of Hatred campaign while you are at it. There isn’t anything special here. You just want to breeze through the campaign and get a ton of experience points from the quest bonuses and hopefully finish the campaign and jump to the endgame.
However, if you go through the campaign straight, you should only reach around level 45. That level could be lower, but it could also be way higher if you are finishing some class quests and killing unnecessary monsters on the way to objectives or quests.
Finishing the campaign way below level 60 feels unoptimized because finishing content to reach level 60 outside the campaign is basically a waste of time, considering you’ll replace them immediately once you reach torment one or T1 difficulty.
The goal here is to finish as many tedious tasks as possible before reaching level 60 so you can capitalize on some of the bonus experience points. These tasks are “tedious” in a way where if you don’t finish them before level 60, you are going to feel inefficient doing it while you are in the endgame because the experience points aren’t that worth it anymore. These tasks are the following:
- Strongholds
- Tenets of Akarats
- Renown Bonuses (Nahantu)
- Season Journey tasks
Strongholds give a lot of experience points when you are low level. They are also part of some season journey tasks and some renown bonuses. Finishing all these tasks will give you a lot of player levels and they all should push you to level 60 if you finish them efficiently along with the campaign.
If you do other tasks like Helltides, Undercities, and dungeons, it could be a waste of time because the loot isn’t that great anymore when leveling. All the gear progression starts at Torment 1, which should be the main priority of every player looking to level up fast.
Post-Campaign Speed Leveling
For those who want to speedrun leveling an alt or leveling literally after the campaign, you have more methods to use.
If you finished the campaign around level 45-50, you can do the following tasks in order:
- Farm a few Seething Opals from the Season of Hatred event.
- Get Tribute of Growths (exp bonus) from Tree of Whispers, Undercity, or dungeons.
- Check if you are close to a season journey ashes reward (to apply an exp bonus).
- Craft the highest exp elixirs.
- Stack the exp bonus from the Seething Opal, elixir, and some season of journey bonuses.
- Run Undercity on the highest difficulty you can finish and use a Tribute of Growth to add more exp bonuses.
Using all these experience bonuses will speed up your leveling exponentially. From experience, I spent 20 minutes running Undercity with all the exp bonuses and jumped from level 55 to 60 (8). While paragon levels are much easier when you are starting from 1, you’ll skyrocket in leveling with all these stacking experience points bonuses.
If you don’t want to run Undercities, you can still use the Seething Opal and elixir bonuses and run the content you want. You can even get some more experience bonuses from Nightmare Sigils.
