How to Have Twins in The Sims 4

Why start with one if you can start with two?

Being a parent can be one of the most rewarding experiences in the world, and that can be just as true in the Sims 4. However, if you want more than one kid and aren’t feeling very patient, having twins is one way to quickly increase the number of little ones in a household. While having twins is rarely surefire, there are ways to increase the chances of this miracle in the Sims 4.

Increasing Your Chances of Having Twins in the Sims 4

To increase the chances of having twins, players can buy the Fertile trait in the Sims’ reward store. The trait costs 3,000 satisfaction points and will increase the chances of getting pregnant and the chance of having twins — or even triplets.

To access the rewards system, open the Aspirations menu in the bottom right panel of live mode and then click on the Rewards store, represented by the gift package icon. If you don’t have enough satisfaction points for the purchase, you can quickly rack them up by completing your Sim’s whims. Those whims will appear above their head in the screen’s bottom left corner when in live mode.

There are other ways to increase the likelihood of twins if you own the expansion packs: City Living, Spa Day, or Outdoor Retreat. In the City Living pack, trying for a baby on a lot with the trait ‘On Ley Line’ will increase the chances of twins or triplets. In the Spa Day pack, trying for a baby after getting a fertility massage, and subsequently, the Fertility Boost moodlet, will also increase the probability. Lastly, in the Outdoor Retreat pack, you can create the Elixir of Fertility with the right ingredients and the appropriate skill level for a better shot at conceiving twins. However, as long as you own the base game, the Rewards store method should work.

If you’re interested in creating other big moments in your Sim’s life, consider throwing a wedding and getting them a fabulous wedding cake. If your Sim is too young for a proposal, start smaller and have them do a promposal in the High School Years expansion pack.
