Poison-types are at the forefront of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC, the Teal Mask. And with Gligar’s debut in this region, there’s never been a better reason to grab the Toxic Orb as quickly as possible. Fortunately, you won’t have to go far to grab this poisonous hold item. Here’s how to get the Toxic Orb in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to Get the Toxic Orb in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
If you’re a fan of Pokemon with a venomous slant, then there’s really only one hold item for you. That hold item, of course, in the Toxic Orb. And you don’t have to go far to find it.
To find the Toxic Orb in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to go to Delibird Presents in North Levincia.
There, you’ll be able to purchase the Toxic Orb for 15,000 Pokedollars. But note, the Toxic Orb will only be available once you’ve beaten the game. That means you’ll need to triumph over each of the gyms and the Paldea Champion to grab this hold item for yourself.
What Does Toxic Orb Do and Why is it So Good in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
The Toxic Orb is well worth it, though. When held, the Toxic Orb poisons its holder every round if it isn’t already poisoned. And while that might seem like an awful ability, when used on a Pokemon like Gliscor, which can have the ability Poison Heal, it becomes one of the best self-healing hold items in the game.
That’s because Poison Heal heals 1/8th of the Pokemon’s max health. Leftovers, by comparison, only heal its holder by 1/16th of the Pokemon’s max health.
This combination makes Gliscor a very useful Pokemon to have.
If you haven’t seen Gligar in your Pokemon Scarlet and Violet game yet, check out the Teal Mask DLC. But if you have the DLC, note that Gligar is a Pokemon Scarlet exclusive. Fortunately, there are trade codes that will help you grab your toxic bat before you know it.
