How to Get Rid of the Dead-End Job Fear in The Sims 4

While the easiest way to get rid of most problems in The Sims 4 is to use cheats, we won’t be covering that today. Instead, there are two methods implemented into the game you can use to combat this frustrating fear.

Using Regain Passion

The main way you’ll get rid of the Dead-End Job fear is to allow your Sims to regain passion for their careers! To do this, keep an eye on the Sim who has the fear. When you look in the bottom-left corner of the screen at their moods and wants, you’ll occasionally find a spiked bubble. When you see this bubble, you’ll gain the ability to Regain Passion for your job. You can do this by clicking on your Sim and selecting the Regain Passion button.

There are two possible outcomes when you do this. You’ll either gain a Tense moodlet showing a failed attempt or a positive one, indicating that your Sim is ready to work again. Your goal is to go to work while the positive moodlet is active. If you go after, this method won’t work and you’ll have to attempt it again. It lasts six hours, giving you a decent timeframe to work with.

If you succeed in doing so, you’ll eliminate the Dead-End Job fear for some time. Or well, at least until they start fearing it again. If you have a hard time keeping up with this method, there’s another solution for you.

Drinking a Fear-Be-Gone Potion

The less risky method of getting rid of the Dead-End Job fear is to buy a Fear-Be-Gone Potion from the Aspiration Rewards Store. It costs 300 points, making it slightly more expensive than a typical mood potion. You’ll also only get rid of one fear, meaning that if you have more than one, you’ll have to buy potions for each.

You’ll gain points by completing your character’s aspirations and fulfilling their wants. While finishing aspirations grants more points, this typically takes longer than satisfying a want. While wants only give around 25-50 points each, you can usually finish them in quick succession, allowing you to save up 300 points in a relatively short amount of time.

Either way, once you have enough saved up, enter the Rewards Store through the Aspirations tab and scroll down until you see the Fear-Be-Gone Potion. It’ll appear in your character’s inventory where you can drink it. Doing this will get rid of one fear you may have, including Dead-End Job.
