How to Get Posterity in Destiny 2

This is the coolest looking hand cannon in the game.

Destiny 2 is a looter shooter set in space, with hundreds of guns you can collect and refine. But not every gun is easy to get your hands on. Posterity, a Legendary Hand Cannon with no business looking as good as it does, is one of the harder guns to get if you don’t enjoy end-game content.

But if you’re determined, here’s how to get Posterity in Destiny 2.

How to Get Posterity in Destiny 2

Posterity is an Arc Precision Hand Cannon that can only be obtained in one way. You’ll need to head to Europa and Check the large geometric icon above the Absterion Abyss. This will allow you to access the Deep Stone Crypt Raid… but only if you have the Beyond Light campaign. If you’ve completed the Beyond Light campaign through Game Pass, you still won’t have access to this Raid. You’ll need to have Beyond Light currently installed.

Once you’ve found enough people to do the Raid, only one encounter chest will grant you Posterity. And that’s the Third Encounter. This Encounter, lovingly called Crash or Rapture depending on what group you’re in, will have you juggling augmentations and nuclear cores.

But once you (or at least one person) make it to the final room, you’ll be able to grab your chest. If you’re lucky, it will drop Posterity, the only Weapon Drop possible for this chest. If you’re less lucky, it will drop a Chest Piece, Gauntlets, or a Class Item.

Fortunately, you can also farm Posterity with your other characters, giving you a chance to grab this weapon a total of three times per week.

Once you grab it, here’s the best possible roll:

Here are the features you want in Posterity, as rated by the Destiny community:

  • Barrel – Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine – Accurized Round
  • Trait 1 – Reconstruction
  • Trait 2 – Rampage

Good luck getting that gun, Guardian!
