How to Get Copper in Starfield

Prepare your outpost

Starfield Copper Featured

While some resources are fairly easy to buy in merchants, others will have you working to get them in Starfield. Or rather, exploring. Which is basically the same thing without a guaranteed payment. But there’s no easier way than doing it when you’re looking for some specific materials like Copper, which is vastly found on the surfaces of some distant planets. Here’s what you need to do to find Copper in Starfield.

Where to Get Copper in Starfield

As we just mentioned above, Copper is mainly found by exploring different planets abundant in it. When setting your course to any planet, you can see its resources even if you haven’t traveled to it yet. Look for any planet with the “Cu” abbreviation in it, and then travel to said planet to start your copper hunt.

An early example of a planet with good amounts of Copper is Zamka, located in the Alpha Centauri System (the very first system you visit in the game). Copper can be found just like most other minerals in the form of solid rocks, so enter scan mode and harvest them with your Cutter as you would with any other resource.

Other early planets with copper include some moons in the Sol system (Titania, Ariel, Charon, Rhea), the Al-Battani system (Al-Battani II, Al-Battani III, Al-Battani VI-A, Al-Battani VI-B) and the Khayyam system (Khayyam III, Khayyam IV and Khayyam V-E).

Copper is also found in the ground instead of a direct solid rock, so you’ll need to set an outpost to farm it. Make sure to bring enough resources to set up all of the things you need like the proper extractors and storages, as well as a suitable energy source for that specific planet (solar or eolic).

It can be used to build – you guessed it – even more outpost facilities, as well as being often used in other crafting recipes like weapons. You’ll also need some more materials along the way, so get ready to buy some resources across the galaxy.
