How to Get Compound Carbon Activator in The First Descendant

Here's another Activator!

After experimenting with farming Compound Carbon Activators in The First Descendant, I think this might be one of the most confusing materials to farm. They only drop from a few locations, and there is no surefire way of getting one. However, I was able to confirm that it does drop from these locations, and here’s how to get Compound Carbon Activators in The First Descendant.

Where to Get Compound Carbon Activators in The First Descendant

Compound Carbon Activators drop from two Infiltration Operations in the White-Night Gulch region and nothing else. Some rare materials had some added drops, especially after the early patches in the game, but Compound Carbon Activators never got one. So, you’ll have to make do with these two Infiltration Operations to farm Compound Carbon Activators:

When you run these operations, you can also get some Cooling Metallic Foils from other elite enemies. However, you are just looking for the Compound Carbon Activators, which drop from elite enemies as well.

Best Way to Farm Compound Carbon Activators

Both Infiltration Operations take a long time to finish, with Mystery’s End being slightly faster. However, Bio-Lab does have some elite enemies that spawn in its first objective (Poison Injector), but after three runs, I only seem to be getting Cooling Metallic Foils from them.

In the Mystery’s End operation, Compound Carbon Activators drop from the elite after the occupation objective, which is the one where you have to stand on the objective in a spiral staircase while hordes of enemies attack you from multiple sides.

The best way to farm Compound Carbon Activators is to rush to this part in the Mystery’s End and restart the mission. You can speedrun the whole stage using Bunny.

What Are Compound Carbon Activators Used For?

Compound Carbon Activators are used for the following research:

ProductCompound Carbon Activators Needed
Blue Beetle Nano Tube7
Greg’s Reversed Fate Polymer Syncytium7
Perforator Synthetic Fiber Blueprint7
Ajax Stabilizer30
Kyle Spiral Catalyst30

Since these Compound Carbon Activators drop in ridiculously low quantities, at least its recipes don’t need a lot of them compared to other rare materials. However, if you are looking to max out the unique abilities of the Blue Beetle, Greg’s Reversed Fate, or Perforator, you might need to farm a lot of these Compound Carbon Activators to craft them.
