Where’s the fun in trying to survive with your friends if you can’t get a party to work right? In The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it’s up to you and three other players to escape the clutches of the vicious Sawyer Family in this intense asymmetrical horror game, but if you’re running into an issue that is plaguing countless players at the moment, you may find yourself struggling to escape with a group of random players. Let’s find out what is causing this party issue, and if there are any solid fixes before you get turned into an all-you-can-eat barbecue buffet.
Why Isn’t My Party Working In The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
When you first load into TCSM, you’ll need to invite your friends to play with you. There are a few different reasons why your party may not be working, from incompatible crossplay to general network errors, so if you’ve cleared those off of the board, let’s try some troubleshooting.
The first thing you and your crew will want to do is restart the game. No matter if you’re playing on Steam or on Game Pass, fully exit out of the game and try to party up again. In my personal experience, a restart is all it needs to start working as it should once again. Also note, if anyone besides the host exits spectating at the end of the game, you’ll likely get kicked from the party again.

If restarting the game doesn’t fix it, you could always verify your game files in Steam if you’re playing on PC. This could verify that there is something wrong with your game, and it will instantly patch it up and get you going in the right direction again.
The team has acknowledged that there are a few bugs affecting the party system at the moment, so this could be fixed as soon as the newest patch goes live. There is a chance that we may just need to exercise some patience while waiting to line up with all of our friends like lambs to the slaughter. More often than not, a quick restart of the game can remove party issues, alongside Supplied Credentials errors.
