The Zombies mode is centered around the open-world map of Urzikstan, as opposed to the self-contained multiplayer maps of the previous Zombies modes. Because of that, there are no secret passageways or special methods to get to the Pack-a-Punch machine.

The Pack-a-Punch machines are marked on the map with an icon resembling a treasure chest with an orb on it. There will be several machines on the map, and they do not disappear after use.

How to Use the Pack-A-Punch Machine in MW3 Zombies

The Pack-a-Punch machine is used to upgrade weapons with more damage and ammo capacity. This is especially helpful against the tougher enemies in the orange and red zones.

A weapon can be upgraded at these machines three times, but players will have to visit three separate ones in the different zones: neutral, orange, and red. It will also cost Essence, or the in-game currency, to upgrade. Essence can be earned by defeating zombies and competing contracts.

Here are the Pack-a-Punch prices:

  • Pack-a-Punch I – 5,000
  • Pack-a-Punch II – 10,000
  • Pack-a-Punch III – 15,000

Players will have access to the upgraded weapon for the remainder of the game. However, the Pack-a-Punch upgrades will disappear regardless of dying or extracting. Any upgrades or mods applied to the weapon will return to the basic weapons for the next game. Although, there are Aetherium Crystals that players can bring into games to instantly Pack-a-Punch their weapon without the machine.
