How to Dodge in Resident Evil 3 Remake

So you’re curious about how to dodge in the Resident Evil 3 remake? Sounds like the sane thing to learn how to do, honestly. There’s just a ton of ways to get hurt and it’s the last thing that you’re going to want to happen to you while the world is quite literally crumbling apart and the only people left want to eat you. We’ve got some tips to dodge regardless of whether you’re playing Jill or Carlos, so here’s a little bit of universal knowledge for you.

Dodging is something that you’ll want to get a handle on if you’re someone who isn’t just cruising along on the lower difficulties. It’s pretty crucial to avoid catching the hands of your enemies, we reckon, and it’s important to be able to properly dodge instead of just lunging backwards a bit which leaves you in attacking distance for some foes. To dodge, you want to be using the following inputs:

  • Press RB just before you think you’re about to get hit (not sooner)
  • Move the left stick towards whichever direction your enemy isn’t it

If you pull this off, you’ll have executed a dodge. Depending on whether you’re playing Jill or Carlos, you’ll have a number of options now to counterattack if you’re quick on the pickup. As Jill, if you hit the Left Trigger then you’ll be able to shoot the enemy that you’ve just dodged from, and it’ll be an instant hard-hitter. If you’re Carlos, you’ll be able to punch your enemy in the mouth and stagger them. Yeah, we reckon that’s pretty cool in its own right, honestly. This will push them away from you too, giving you a bit more breathing room even though it hasn’t quite got the flashy roll that Jill does.
