Most Resident Evil 4 Remake villains are surprisingly unique in both motivation and design. You have the ever-ominous Lord Saddler who looks equally divine and disgusting, alongside enemies like Jack Krauser who manages to be a standout military soldier. When it comes to the El Gigante enemy, things are a little more straightforward and similar to other games. The method of killing it is no different though. Here’s how to defeat the El Gigante in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

How Do You Kill An El Gigante in Resident Evil 4 Remake

The first El Gigante will appear as you cross into the Quarry for a second time. Gates will open up, revealing the hulking beast ready to tear Leon to pieces. Your bullets also tend to do very little damage to the colossal foe, leaving a lot of head-scratching as to how you’re supposed to kill it.

The key here is to use its biggest strength to your advantage. The El Gigante relies entirely on slow, heavy attacks to take Leon down. Thanks to just how slow this tends to be, this means you can jump out of the way of its attacks and charges relatively easily. The goal here is to hit the bit of infested flesh directly on its back, which will make the beast drop after numerous hits. When it finally drops to the ground, run up to it and interact to get on its back and begin swinging at the infested flesh. Eventually, it will throw you off, but you can repeat the full process until it finally dies.
