How to Build a Garden in LEGO Fortnite

Building a garden plot and growing crops requires the following resources:

  1. Soil
  2. Fertilizer
  3. Seeds

To make a garden plot, you need two soil and one fertilizer for each square you wish to build. In other words, if you want a large garden with a dozen plots, you’ll need a lot of soil and fertilizer to make them.

Once you have your resources, head into your build menu, select garden plot under Village, and place it down wherever you wish. You can open the garden plot from here, place a seed inside, and grow your crop.

How to Get Soil and Fertilizer in LEGO Fortnite

Obtaining soil requires crafting a shovel using wooden rods and planks in your crafting bench, while fertilizer is an organic resource from animals.

To get soil, you’ll have to create a shovel and dig into the ground until you get enough for your garden plot. Shovels have limited durability, so watch your tool and craft more as needed.

Fertilizer, however, requires searching for animals and checking the ground for any droppings they make. You’re not guaranteed to find fertilizer every time you spot an animal, but it’s your best bet for locating some.

How to Get Seeds in LEGO Fortnite

Seeds are a resource you’ll find as you harvest wild foods, loot chests, and defeat enemies. However, if you have a grain mill unlocked, you can build it using knotroot rods, granite slabs, and shells. Once you have the grain mill, you can insert food into it to receive 2-3 seeds for every unit of food you use.

If you plan on farming a crop often throughout your playthrough, you can use the grain mill to get more seeds, making it a renewable source whenever you want to expand your garden.
