How to Beat the Alternate Hand of Nazeistra in The First Descendant

Oh no, a memorization boss mechanic.

The First Descendant has several confusing bosses, but the Alternate Hand of Nazeistra from the Eye of Truth mission is the most confusing. It introduces a boss mechanic most players never knew existed. Even if you spend an hour fighting the boss, you might not even catch it. Here’s how to beat the Alternate Hand of Nazeistra in The First Descendant and finish the Eye of Truth mission.

The Alternate Hand of Nazeistra Boss Guide – The First Descendant

The Alternate Hand of Nazeistra is the final boss in the Eye of Truth Duty of the Descendant mission. The boss shoots fast projectiles at a player, forcing anyone to seek cover. The arena is circular, with a big obstacle or tree in the middle. You can seek cover using the tree as long as you know where the boss is facing.

The boss also attacks with a slow ice attack that lobs from the air, striking anyone caught in the radius. You’ll see multiple circles on the ground, so you know where these attacks will land.

Alternate Hand of Nazeistra Immunity Mechanics

Once you go through the full HP bar of the boss, it’ll start the immune phase where there will be four orbs attached to the boss. You have to destroy these orbs to break through the immune phase. However, there’s a different mechanic. You might probably have noticed that the orbs respawn almost instantly after destroying them. If you have fought the Dreadful Abomination, you’ll destroy all the orbs immediately.

This strategy will not work for the Alternate Hand of Nazeistra because the strategy is to destroy the orbs in a specific order. When you destroy one of the orbs, and it respawns everything again one by one, pay attention to the order in which the orbs are spawning.

In the same order that the orbs spawned, that will be the same order you have to destroy the orbs. If you make a mistake, it’ll respawn again in a different order. Since the fight is a bit hectic or you have to find cover, you might lose sight of the orbs and get confused.

The trick is that these orbs have a particular height among them. They float around the boss at a specific height, so you can count the orbs as they spawn with regard to height. For example, if the boss spawns its orbs, you can count them from 1, 2, 3, and 4, with 4 floating at the highest point. Stare at the boss for a few seconds and count in the height order when they spawn, e.g., 3, 2, 1, and 4.

One problem you might encounter is when you are playing in a public match and someone doesn’t know the mechanics. If they destroy a wrong orb, it’ll ruin everything. Communicate with your team or try to do the encounter alone. If your problem is not having enough damage, I highly suggest upgrading your weapon modules or even researching Ultimate Weapons and upgrading their unique abilities.
