Fossilized Dino Pokemon Sword and Shield Guide – How to Use It

So, you’ve got your mitts on a Fossilized Dino. Or, perhaps, you haven’t yet but you’ve heard of one and you want it. Well, let’s briefly cover off how you’re able to get Fossils in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Once you visit the Fossil Professor in the game, you’ll be able to pick up fossils either just lying around or visiting Stow-in-Side. You can also get fossils from the siblings who dig around in Bridge Field. If you’re wanting a primer on Fossil combinations generally, we’ve got this guide right here that you can refer to.

Now, to the matter of Fossilized Dinos specifically. You can get a Fossilized Dino pretty easily, as those along with Fossilized Birds drop quite commonly in Pokemon Sword if you’re getting the Skill Brother to dig them up for you. If you have a collection of Fossilized Dinos, then you’re going to want to go to the Fossil Professor on Route 6 to combine it with another fossil to get one of the four possible Fossil Pokemon. Here are the combinations that will require the Fossilized Dino in Pokemon Sword and Shield:

  • Fossilized Dino + Fossilized Bird = Arctozolt
  • Fossilized Dino + Fossilized Fish = Arctovish

Those are the only two of the four available Fossil Pokemon from this current generation that require use of the Fossilized Dino. You can get as many of these bad boys as you want as long as you have the requisite Fossils, so it’s all about having some patience with the Digging Duo or hunting around the Fossil Professor.

Now that you’ve got our guide on how to use the Fossilized Dino in Pokemon Sword and Shield, it should be easy enough to pick up your own strange-looking spherical Fossil Pokemon. Yeah, we don’t have any good reasons for you as to why they look the way that they do, but that’s just evolution, baby. Need a hand with anything else as you wander around Galar?
